Position Summary
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of technical projects related to the design, construction, internal fit-up, and commissioning of our vertical farming facilities.
This role requires a strong technical project management background, with hands-on experience in construction sites and industrial facility development. The successful candidate will oversee civil works, contractor coordination, and commissioning activities, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination:
Coordinate and oversee all phases of vertical farm development: design review, permitting, civil works, structural works, HVAC, irrigation, electrical systems, internal fit-up, and commissioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and agronomists, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
Track project progress and update stakeholders on key milestones and deliverables.
Documentation and Reporting:
Review technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Document project risks, issues, and changes, ensuring effective communication with the project team.
Support in generating regular status updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Resource Management:
Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Assist in managing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Problem-Solving and Support:
Identify potential project challenges and assist in developing solutions to address them.
Provide hands-on support during project execution phases, including site visits and inspections.
Support procurement processes for technical equipment and construction packages.
Support testing, start-up, and commissioning activities to ensure operational readiness of the facility.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all project activities comply with company standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Assist in monitoring quality control processes to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Background: Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering, or related technical field.
Experience: Proven experience in construction project management, industrial plant development, or complex facility fit-out.
Technical Expertise / Certification:
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience managing contractors and on-site activities.
Strong understanding of construction processes and commissioning phases.
Ability to read and review technical drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and scheduling tools.
