Supply Chain Specialist

Planet Farms, founded in 2018 in Milan, is a leading vertical farming company. It’s currently present in the main distribution chains with its line of salads and pesto.

The company is in strong development in Italy and abroad and Planet Farmers today work at the production plant - the brand new and upcoming Cirimido Plant (Como, Italy) at the R&D Center on the outskirts of Milan, as well as at offices in Italy (Milan), Portugal (Coimbra), the United Kingdom (London) and the Netherlands (Eindhoven).

We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist that will be responsible for managing and optimizing the supply chain. This role requires analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and in-depth knowledge of supply chain management practices in the food industry. He/she will actively collaborate with production, customer care, sales, purchasing, and management control.

Activities:

LOGISTICS

• Coordinate and optimize logistics operations, both inbound and outbound, in accordance with predefined schedules
• Coordinate with the logistics, production, and sales departments to ensure the highest level of customer service
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics suppliers and implement corrective actions when necessary
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and logistics partners
• Manage any logistics crises
• Implement new Italian and foreign logistics flows when they become necessary

PROCUREMENT

• Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to avoid shortages or surpluses, ensuring timely delivery and required quality
• Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
• Collaborate on the implementation of the ERP system and the application for inventory management
• Manage and organize periodic inventories

Additionally, he will need to collaborate with management control in creating detailed reports illustrating operational performance and proposing improvements.

Knowledge:

• Degree in Management Engineering, Economics, Logistics, or equivalent experience
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the fresh-cut produce sector

Skills:

• Ability to use ERP software and other supply chain management tools
• Excellent proficiency in the Office suite
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proactivity and results orientation

Language skills:

Excellent spoken and written English
